Melee

As a stalwart guardian of the frontlines, the Melee fighters, both the Swordsmen and the Flailer are bolstered by their numbers.

Armed with razor-sharp blades or the bite of the flail, they excel at cutting down agile and elusive adversaries like Scouts, their swift strikes nullifying attempts at evasion. Against the rigid formations of Spearmen, Melee soldiers prove adept at finding the chinks in the armour, swiftly dispatching their Phalanx foes.

Even against the formidable Halberdiers of the Vanguard, known for their versatility and reach, they hold their ground, their mastery of close-quarters combat allowing them to close the distance and overcome their adversaries.

Despite their prowess, they must tread cautiously around other classes. The threat of artillery can be mitigated with their agility and skill, taking the combined effort of two to effectively neutralize these formidable cannons. However, greater numbers are required to defend against any other class.

Under the command of a seasoned leader, the Swordsman becomes an indispensable asset on the battlefield, embodying the epitome of martial prowess and strategic finesse.

Garret Bloodflail

MELEE - FLAILER

Garret Bloodflail had always been violent, given to bouts of unbridled anger that he'd never had to quell. That he emerged as formidable warrior was only a discovery made as a flailer, given that he had not the discipline of sword fighting. Treated with disdain among the swordsmen, Garret's strength lay not in finesse or refined technique, but in the brutal efficacy of the flail that he hefted with a grim determination.

Born into the harsh life of the lower echelons, Garret's path led him to the crudest weapon of his time—a spiked ball and chain that spoke of the brutality of his existence. His attire, a patchwork of scavenged armour, bore witness to countless clashes, each dent and scar a testament to the unforgiving nature of the battlefield.

Despite the crude nature of his weapon, Garret harboured a yearning for a more precise instrument of war. Yet, it was never meant to be. The spike ball flail, while imposing and capable of crushing blows, lacked the finesse that he secretly craved. Yet, Garret's grit and determination transformed the limitations of his weapon into a savage strength.

As the flail swung through the air, Garret's bloodlust surged. The flail became an extension of his primal instincts, a force that imposed both fear and respect on the battlefield. His fellow flailers, often marginalized even among their own, rallied under Garret's banner, drawn to the raw power that emanated from the crushing blows of their crude weapons.

In the relentless dance of war, Garret Bloodflail embodied the spirit of the flailers—a class treated worse than their peers, yet bound by an unyielding determination to prove their worth. With each swing of the spiked ball flail, Garret carved a path through the chaos, a brutal force that demanded recognition in a world where precision and refinement often overshadowed the primal power of the flailer.
